How Do I Navigate And Understand The ComAp IntelGen 500 Controller?
A simple guide to the controller layout, buttons, wiring ports, screens, and basic operating functions.
The ComAp IntelGen 500 controller provides a clear interface for viewing generator information, operating the unit, and accessing diagnostic data. The controller includes a front panel with navigation keys, alarm reset controls, start and stop buttons, breaker commands, and several pages for viewing generator performance. Indicator lights on the front panel display system status, including shutdowns, warnings, temperatures, and normal operating conditions.
The back of the controller includes ports for current and voltage inputs, CAN communication, analog and binary inputs, binary outputs, power supply connections, and Ethernet and USB ports. These connections support generator monitoring, control, and communication with other systems.
The Home screens display real-time generator information, including kW load, power factor, voltage, frequency, amperage, synchronization, CAN communication, analog engine inputs, and aftertreatment system status. Additional screens provide access to historical data logs with time-stamped fault events, alarm and warning lists, and descriptions of past occurrences.
To operate the generator, use the navigation buttons to select Manual or Auto mode. The green Start button activates the unit, and once running, the main breaker can be closed using the breaker command button to provide power.
